Dealer update: RVT acquires Teme; two new dealers for Deutz

Rea Valley Tractors has signed a deal to take over its neighbour and fellow New Holland and Kuhn dealer, Teme Valley Tractors.

The move will see it add Teme’s Knighton and Welshpool branches to its existing seven, which cover Shropshire, Staffordshire, Lancashire, Cheshire and northwards of mid-Wales.

Both Teme Valley Tractors depots will continue trading from their current locations.

The move concludes a hectic 12 months for Rea Valley Tractors, having swapped from John Deere to New Holland late last year, expanded its trading area with three new branches, and extended its JCB territory into Cheshire.

Same Deutz-Fahr UK has appointed two new dealers, with the additions of Lincolnshire firm RC Setchfield and County Durham-based Mark Watson Machinery taking the number of outlets selling its tractors to 40.

Family-run RC Setchfield is located on Withambrook Industrial Park in Grantham and counts Merlo, Weaving and Teagle among its franchises.

In addition to its home county, Mark Watson Machinery, based at Tow Law, will cover the eastern area of both Northumberland and North Yorkshire, from Druidge Bay in the north, down to Whitby in the south.

Alongside the supply of new farm machinery from implement makers including Malone, Cross, M-Tec and Alstrong, the business continues to sell used equipment and provide specialist farm machinery transport.

Malpas Tractors has been appointed as a Valtra dealer to cover the Lancashire area from its branches of Lathom and Condor Green.

The business will be offering the full tractor range from 75hp to 400hp, along with comprehensive service and parts backup.

It also counts Kuhn, Grimme, Merlo, Sumo, Richard Western, Hi-Spec, Shelbourne Reynolds and Bunning among its charges.

Thurlow Nunn Standen has seen its Manitou agricultural territory stretched westwards of its existing East Anglian stomping ground.

Driven by the decision of Chandlers Farm Equipment to relinquish the Manitou franchise, the Thurlow Nunn Standen (TNS) boundary now extends across Bedfordshire and along the adjacent borders of Hertfordshire, covering Luton, Leighton Buzzard and Bedford.

TNS operates from five branches in Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire, and has been selling Manitou equipment since the start of 2021.

Merlo’s telehandlers are to be available through Market Drayton dealer TR Machinery.

The outfit, which is part of RVW Pugh, has taken on responsibilities from Shifnal-based Keith Davies Agriculture following the conclusion of its 25-year association with the Merlo brand.

TR Machinery was established in 2021 and holds the Fendt franchise for Shropshire, Cheshire, mid-Wales and part of Staffordshire.

It also sells kit from the likes of Vaderstad, Sumo, Sulky and Spearhead, and is currently building a new service depot at Newport in Shropshire. This is set to open before the end of the year.

Knight Farm Machinery, the Rutland-based manufacturer of self-propelled, trailed and mounted crop sprayers, has appointed Agwood as its dealer for Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

The appointment fills one of the few gaps in its UK network and covers the full line of Knight machinery.

This includes self-propelled and trailed sprayers of 3,500-6,000 litres with booms of up to 40m, mounted models of 1,300-1,900 litres with booms of up to 30m, and a selection of cultivation equipment.

Agwood’s three-branch business became a division of the Crawfords Group in 2022. It operates from facilities at Swingfield and Linton in Kent, and Billingshurst, West Sussex.

County Fermanagh-based W Johnston Tractors and Plant is now the sole distributor of J Mac’s range of equipment in Northern Ireland.

That includes the Solihull firm’s telescopic handlers, forklifts, excavators and plant trailers.

Grange Machinery has extended its dealer network with the appointment of B&B Tractors.

The firm’s low-disturbance toolbars, standalone looseners and strip-till Preparator will now be available through the Midlands dealer’s four depots, which cover Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Leicestershire.

Hopkins Machinery has been appointed as a Kverneland dealer to cover southern and central Wales, plus parts of west Gloucestershire.

With headquarters at St Brides Wentloog, Newport, the family-run business offers extensive reach through its depots that include Brecon in Powys, Willand in Devon, and its newest location at Kilcot, near Newent, Gloucestershire.

GGM is to widen its Kubota portfolio as it expands into the agricultural sector with higher horsepower M-series tractors and R0 loaders, having previously specialised in groundscare machinery.

The dealership is based in Colne, Lancashire, with a second depot at Haydock, Merseyside, so it will be accessible to agricultural customers throughout Merseyside, parts of Lancashire and West Yorkshire.

Bobcat dealer Versatile Equipment has added responsibility for Norfolk and Suffolk to its existing territory that stretches across Surrey, Sussex, Kent and Essex.

To do so, it has opened a new depot based at Willow Grove Farm in Lakenheath, Suffolk.

Wise Agriculture, of Richmond, North Yorkshire, is now the British distributor for Advantage Feeders’ livestock feeding systems.

Formerly known as 3IN1Feeders, and with headquarters in Victoria, Australia, Advantage offers an extensive range of grain and pellet feeders for beef, dairy and sheep.

Wise is also the UK distributor of Landquip’s Porta-Yards sheep handling portfolio, the primary dealer of Canadian-made Arrowquip cattle handling equipment and supplies Tru-Test weighing and EID products, and AgriCow’s Rotating Cow brushes.

Nottingham-based groundscare specialist Henton & Chattell is to supply Yamaha’s range of ATVs and UTVs in the East Midlands.

Grain storage specialist Tornum (formerly JW Installations), with headquarters in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, is now an official UK distributor of Skandia Elevator conveyor products.

Kramp, the agricultural spare parts and accessories specialist, will offer Shell’s portfolio of heavy-duty engine oils, transmission oils and greases through its network of 3,500 dealerships.

UK farmers will be able to order products, such as Shell Rimula, Tellus and Gadus, online or through their local Kramp dealer for next-day delivery.
